Origin:

One of a class of 10 diesel electric shunting locomotives built for the LMS in 1935. No 7069 was requisioned by the War Department and sent to France in 1940 where it soon ended up under German ownership! Having survived being straffed by the Allies (the bullet holes are still visible) it then worked for various French companies until it was rescued in 1988 and returned to the UK.
